Since you're talking about hot swapping, I'm assuming you're using Win 95/98.
NT only supports warm swapping. Anyway, for hot swapping to work, you must
boot with the CD-ROM installed. Then you can swap back and forth until you're
blue in the face. If you boot with the floppy installed, hot swapping won't
work. Also, if you boot with the floppy installed externally (via cable) I
_think_ that hot swapping won't work that way either. It's kind of finicky!
